Sporting Clays
The golf of shotgun sports — a challenging, varied course experience set in natural terrain at Jefferson Gun Club.
The Course
A Course Like No Other
Often called the golf of shotgun sports, sporting clays takes you through a course of multiple stations set in natural terrain. Each station presents a different target presentation — incoming, outgoing, crossing, dropping, or bouncing — designed to simulate the variety of shots encountered in the field.
Our course winds through varied terrain, offering a unique and challenging experience on every visit. No two rounds are exactly alike, making it a favorite among experienced shooters looking for variety and a true test of skill.
Target Presentations
Endless Variety
Unlike trap or skeet, sporting clays presents targets from different angles, elevations, and distances at every station. You may encounter a rabbit target rolling along the ground, a teal target launching straight up, or a pair of crossing birds at varying speeds.
This variety is what makes sporting clays so engaging — and so effective at building real-world shooting skills. Every station challenges you to read the target, adjust your approach, and execute a clean shot.
For All Skill Levels
Welcoming to Everyone
Sporting clays is enjoyed by beginners and seasoned competitors alike. New shooters appreciate the relaxed, walk-the-course format, while experienced shooters relish the challenge of mastering every presentation the course has to offer.
Groups of four or more are encouraged to call ahead to ensure field availability. Whether you're visiting solo or bringing a group, our staff is happy to help you get the most out of your round.
